The Lemonheads
Fire RecordsScent(s) idea – Re-release after 30 years
The American independent band The Lemonheads released their sixth studio album „Come On Feel“ in 1993, with which they achieved gold status in Great Britain and the USA at the time. It was accompanied by several singles. One of them was „Into Your Arms“, which spent nine weeks at number one on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks. A record they shared with U2 at the time.
The 30th anniversary for this album was the occasion for a new edition, for which we produced various vinyl record editions on behalf of Fire Records.
There is the double LP in black (180g heavyweight), and there is another version of the album with two coloured vinyl records (140g), each in red and yellow.
All are packaged in printed inner sleeves, which are in turn packaged in gatefolds. And these feature a very special design element. On the cover, the lettering „The Lemonheads“ is printed in red with a partial UV gloss varnish and additionally refined with a scented varnish. When you stroke the varnish, a fragrance is released. However, it does not smell of lemon, as one might assume from the band’s name, but of strawberries. A special print finish with an interesting effect.
In addition, there is a 24-page »optimal media book« as a hardcover in vinyl record format, with glued-in maxi pockets on the U2 and U3 and containing two records (140g) in black.
