The Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon & Decca
Deutsche GrammophonClaudio Abbado's largest and smallest music library
Combining Claudio Abbado’s extensive discography from four decades of collaboration with the Deutsche Grammophon, Decca and Philips labels in one collection is a major challenge. Nevertheless, that is exactly what has been achieved with the limited box set „The Complete Recordings on Deutsche Grammophon & Decca“.
This exclusive set contains an impressive 257 CDs and eight DVDs, capturing Abbado’s entire musical output together with the Deutsche Grammophon labels. Everything is presented in a lift of lid box with a scratch-resistant matt foil lamination.
Inside the box, on the top side, is a specially made space for a thread-stiched hardcover book with 120 pages, which can be removed with an elegant satin ribbon. The cover of each book was hand-numbered and finished with a scratch-resistant matt foil lamination in blue. Two boxes on the left and right of the box, reminiscent of a small shelf, contain two booklets of 268 and 232 pages respectively, as well as 265 data carriers housed in printed digisleeves with remus spine and cardboard sleeves.
Numerous photos, an essay, the track listing and personal memories from renowned artists such as Martha Argerich, Cecilia Bartoli, Jonas Kaufmann and Alfred Brendel give this box set, which weighs almost twelve kilograms, the character of a unique music library of Claudio Abbado’s life’s work.
