Stiftung Humboldt ForumExhibition about the Artistic Internationalism in the GDR
The temporary exhibition „Beyond Borders“ can be seen at the Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace until the end of March. It is part of a group exhibition and deals with the international relations – artistic and cultural-political – of the GDR with friendly socialist states, liberation movements in Asia, Africa and America and the effects on the present and global interdependencies.
The inclusion of various artists, such as Maithu Bùi, Seiichi Furuya, Mio Okido, Minh Duc Pham and Su-Ran Sichling, provides insights into the individual experiences of that time and at the same time creates a link to the present. They all form a whole, just as the individual experiences and memories complete the picture of that time.
We were allowed to produce the exhibition catalogue in the form of a brochure for this group exhibition. „Beyond Borders“ is complemented by another brochure for the exhibition „Mio Okido: Remembered Images Imagined (Hi)Stories – and I“ by the artist Mio Okido.
Both brochures are a perfect visual match – you can tell at first glance that they belong to the same series. They are produced in a handy A5 format and have practical loop staples on the saddle-stitching for easy filing and collecting.
While the first content pages are rather discreet with colourful elements, the cover pages immediately catch the eye. On the one hand, they are shortened and on the other, they are printed in intensive colour, which can be assigned to the respective exhibition. The different cover colours make it easier to find the relevant brochures you are looking for.
