The English band Deep Purple, founded in 1968, is still one of the most successful rock bands of all time. No wonder – the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal have been active for over five decades and have released their 23rd studio album „=1“, for which we have produced a variety of different product variants.
The album title „=1“ stands for the idea that in a complex world, everything is reduced to one essence – an idea that is also reflected in the band’s musical unity. Everything is one.
A well-rounded concept that is reflected and combined in a uniform design scheme on the various sound carriers such as vinyl records, CDs, DVDs and even MCs.
The album was produced in two different CD versions: the classic CD in a jewel case with a 24-page booklet and a deluxe version. The latter consists of a six-page digipac with CD and DVD. The discs are each held on the sides with a tray. The 24-page booklet is housed in a sleeve. The digipac has been finished with a special Pantone colour and a transparent, partial relief varnish on the front.

For vinyl record lovers, we have produced a total of four different LP variants of the album, each packaged in a gatefold. The colours include Black, S122 Purple, S167 Crystal Clear and a picture vinyl with two motifs, all pressed on 180g (heavyweight). The gatefold each contain a 12-page booklet in vinyl record format and two 12inch vinyl records. Here too, the uniform concept is reflected in the design – from the printing of the inner sleeves and labels to the use of the Pantone special colour in the gatefold.
For the single releases of the songs „Pictures Of You“ and „Lazy Sod“, CD versions in the form of a four-sided sleeve pac with grip hole and hand numbering were published.
In addition, the album „=1“ was produced on a classic white cassette. The MC labels and the triple-folded inlay card were printed in one colour and inserted into a snap box.

One highlight is the limited box set. One copy of the total edition includes a golden ticket for free concert admission. The box set consists of a printed hardcover lift of lid box, which is finished with a matt foil lamination and protected with a printed overlay.
Inside the lift of lid box there is a gatefold with two 12inch vinyl records (180g) and three printed disco bags, each containing a 10inch vinyl record (100g) in black. If you place the three disco bags next to each other, the design concept combines seamlessly to form a cell and the lettering „Deep Purple“ is formed.
The box set also contains the deluxe version with CD and DVD, a T-Shirt, a paper bag with two guitar picks, a lanyard and an exclusive art print in vinyl record format on cardboard.
Deep Purple show with „=1“ that they are not only musically, but also creatively and conceptually among the greats of rock music.
